I had gone to a breeder's home to buy a bonded pair of sun conures about 15 years ago. I purchased the birds but on the way back into the person's house I passed a female moustache parakeet that was plucked. I have never in my life seen a bird stare at me like she did. She gave me those I adore you eyes and pressed against the bars as much as she could trying to get to me. I asked the owner what her story was, he told me the owner was very old and had passed away but that was over 10 years ago and he had her for 10 years. He told me she hates everyone and started plucking her feathers after her owner died. This bird obviously thought she knew me or that I was her old owner or something and she screamed bloody murder when I walked away from her. If I had the time and money for her I would have purchased her on the spot. I felt so badly and to this day I still think about that bird. I should have not taken the sun pair and just got her but the guy had been holding onto the sun pair for just me so I didn't think it was fair to tell him I didn't want them. I called a week later to see if the person still had her in hopes of buying her then, unfortunately she had been sold to a breeder never to be seen by me again. To this day I still regret not getting her, she was special and she thought I was special. We should have been together. I don't mean to make you feel badly but please, life is short, special instant friendships like you have with that macaw don't happen all that often. You two are meant to be together. I never got to be with that beautiful girl moustache keet, go and get that macaw before it becomes too late. I still regret not getting her to this day and it still upsets me dearly. If you love him, go and get him and share your life with him. You both deserve it. Furniture and other items can be moved or even gotten rid of until you have more space, friendships and bonds last a lifetime |
