OK..How did you pass the time??

I am going to have to have a bunch of patience as my new baby CAG is only 2 weeks old and won't come home till he's weaned. So I was wondering if you all could share your stories about how you've passed the time waiting for your new fids to come home. Am I crazy??????

Not at all (crazy). I spent the waiting time making toys for my first Grey, and getting his cage all ready. Kind of like getting a nursery ready for a new baby!

I was lucky that I got to visit Bella as she grew-up and it really shows in our relationship.

Man do I feel your pain! I've had my name on a waiting list since last October. Finally gave up on our local petstore and found a breeder. When I went to see the babies they were 2 weeks old. No feathers! Just Nekkid little babies!

A week ago they were 1 month old. We're going to visit our little Nekkid One on April 1st.

But I've been having a heck of a time just waiting. So to keep myself busy I've built a playstand and made a lot of toys. I've rearranged the toys in my TAG's cage about a million times! I go to the petstores a lot just to look around and get more ideas. I've checked out a ton of books from our local library about parrots. They have a lot of books on training and care. Oh and I've printed out a ton of birdie recipes from online. I've been making a "birdie binder" (if you will) will tons of printed out info. It has proper care instructions, toy ideas to make, things I want to buy, recipes, tons of facts, and just pretty much info I can find about TAGs.

Well good luck keeping yourself busy. I hope I gave you some good ideas. I'll post some pics of my TAG, playstand, and cage!

well lets see, while I was waiting on Sophie to come home last year I built 5 cages, made a few plat gyms, I ran in circles a lot too!!!

LOL I run in circles sometimes too!

I just can't stand it sometimes cuz I want my TAG so bad.

When I was waiting for Schroeder to wean (for only a few months, mind you) I bought his cage, but would only allow myself to buy one thing per week. One toy, one playstand, one perch, and slowly slowly filled up his cage. Cutting it down to weeks helped alot, since toy buying is addictive and fun and gave me something short term to look forward to.

Some great things have been mentioned already! Read a lot of books, build things (toys, gyms...), compile some recipes to try...and try to get some sleep!!

I feel your pain. I've been waiting to bring home a Conure since February 9th. I'm finally bringing my GCC home in 2 weeks. I've made TONS of toys and am currently reading "Parrots for Dummies".
