Default New Cage

As some of you know, I got Echo a play top cage. She LOVES it (lol, she is constantly talking!) Well, I put Harley back in her dome cage. She is acting like a totally different bird. Ever since I put her in the corner cage, she started getting louder, nippy and hormonal acting. She's coming up on two, so I just blamed it on that. But, when I put her in her dome again, she back to her sweet, cuddly, quiet self. She's even stopped screaming in the mornings and afternoons, stopped yelling when Echo talks and is talking a TON more. So I wanted to get your opinions, would her being back in her original cage have caused this or is it just a coincidence? Is her dome top like her 'safety retreat' and she just started picking up all these habits because she was insecure?

Hey, your guess is as good as mine! Sure sounds plausible though. I've read that round/hexagonal cages make birds uncomfortable, and some people feel that corner cages can cause the same problem. Who knows? You'll just have to see if it lasts!

I second that opinion. I have always heard that round or other shaped cages cause birds to be stressed. What is interesting however, is that I have always been told to put one side of the cage against the wall so that they feel protected, and the corner cage would have two sides against the wall - you would think the bird would feel safe. Go figure.

I have always heard the wall opinion too. Unfortunatly, Harley's cage was against two wondows- which may have contributed to it, but originally it was against a wall, and the habits were still showing. So far, everything is beautiful here! Her dome is against a window as well... I don't know, it could have been shape, coincidence, etc... Just wanted to see waht yall thought. Thanks!
