Need advice....long I actually have a few different issues to ask questions on, so I am starting a few new threads here tonite. The first is concerning Picasso (or Chuckie Bird as I call him) and Skittles bonding to each other. Picasso is a BTM, 1year old and we have had him about 3 months. SKittles is a scarle who is 8 months old and we have had her about 2 months now. Chuckie Bird is in LOVE and LUST with my husband, as u may remember. And....Skittles is in love and lust with Chuckie Bird. I am SKittle's favorite human....she cuddles with me sometimes and is beginning to show some personality (i know she is still quite young for that). But she is really really becoming a bit obsessed with Chuckie Bird and vice versa. They are in separate cages next to each other, they are out of their cages most of the day and when we try to seperate them they scream from the top of their lungs for each other and will fly around the house searching for each other. I even took Skittles into my son's room yesterday to try to get some alone time with her, and didn't lock up Chuckie Bird,(in hopes that he wouldnt scream for her) and he flew upstairs and started banging on the door for her!!!!
I have been a parrot owner before, but not more then one at a time. Is this acceptable behavior, and if this continues will Skittles eventually not want anything to do with me? Chuckie Bird is smitten with my husband as well as Skittles, so i don't think my husband has anything to worry about. He walks in the door and Chuckie goes NUTSO trying to get to him (Kathie....he is quite the happy guy). But Skittles seems to be bonding moreso towards him a little stronger. Any thoughts? |
