Kelly and I went for a walk on the beach this morning as it was such a pretty day.
We stopped in at Stone's pet shop to get an appointment for wing and nail trim and I got to meet a couple of really cool birds.
Betty, an older lady, is a beautiful glossy black with hints of snow white on her belly and chest. She is an Australian Raven crossed with an African Crow.
Then there was the gentleman. He was looking shy and a little nervous. Very handsome B & G Macaw. I found out his name and as soon as I said "Hello Lafayette!" He picked his head up high and puffed out his chest looking like the proud bird he is!
They were two of the several birds being boarded there.
After making cookies the rest of the afternoon, and letting the fids test drive them of course it was dinner time.
I put Zoey back out on the patio for the afternoon sun, which she took a nap after a little preening...........
now, Benji and Cricket have thhe run of the place. They have a gym on the patio and one on top of Benji's cage to play on. So where do they decide to hang out?
dinner was finally cooked, black beans and rice with chicken. I sit down to my tray of food and as I left the patio door open "you know who" comes waltzing in to step up on my foot. Of course resistance is futile so I lift my leg for her to climb up on my tray.
After paying close attention to her body language and the way she looks at me while we share my dinner, I am pretty sure the breaking of bread together means something real special to her. Its hard to explain with out seeing it. Wish I had a video camera. I mean a real one. lol
these pics I call...................
The Beauty and the Beast.
