What does this mean. Is it a vitamin deficiancy? He is screaming more and I think it's hormonal. But other than that he seems fine. I have been feeding him fruit, veggies and seeds.
my cockatiel used to do that, and i was told it was a vitamin deficiency. though, i don't know how true that is. try to stay on top of poop that sticks to the grate/perches/toys/etc...which sometimes means cleaning several times a day. with the "temptation" removed, it helps get rid of that habit.
Be careful with your birds if they eat poop. Lulu our GW does that and we he was on/off meds for over year because of a yeast/bacteria infection not only in his throat but his bottom end too. We ended up taking him to a specialist back in January that gave him a stronger dose of meds than my regular avian vet had.
Okay I checked and it's a choline deficiency. You can sprinkle Brewer's Yeast on soft foods. Just make sure the Brewer's Yeast comes from the Health Food Store, not from the grocery store.Egg white also has it as do some of the treat sticks. By adding the choline to the diet the practice stops right away.
