Arty, you did such a good job describing that. And I was thinking that Libby loved Richard, and so it makes sense that Libby prefers your husband. I have a BG that I adopted 2 1/2 years ago. She very much prefers the young men in our house, and for 2 1/2 years, it's been that way. However, I have no expectations of her, and oddly enough, she has started seeking out my attention - I still must be very careful with her, because she is so unpredictable, but there has definitely been an evolution in her attitude. I worked for about a year with that yahoo group, ParrotBAS; they employ techniques inspired by Dr. Susan Friedman's ABC's of Parrot Behavior. Her website is Behaviorworks-Home - Susan, you probably know it, but I'm inserting it for others who may want this information. Working with this group was so helpful.

Hey there! Poor you and Libby! When I got my Gipper (tag) he was a mistreated, viscious, ball of nerves. I finally was able to get through to him by using a feather. He would at least let me get near him with it and at first he would bite it but eventually he would quit and before long he was letting me pet his head with it and wouldn't bite my hand as long as he could still see the feather. Then we scritched with it and stepped up with it and eventually we were able to get rid of the feather. Worked for us! Good luck!

, We have so many birds here, most will come to either my wife or I.
But then there is one that will only go to Rose Ann, (Tanks) our male green Quaker, I am okay with this, I love him just the same.
For the most part, one person birds are re-trained, one never knows what might happen to one of us, so when a bird comes into our home and goes to one but not the other, that behavior is changed, and yes...many scars

I guess I shouldn't complain.
I have Boca, Dan has Libby and we both have Spanky.
The Budgies belong to my girls. (although I play with them too)
