Ollie has this horrible high pitched beep, beep, beep noise that she does to the tune of one of my cell phone alarm ringer options (which I only used ONCE). She does it ear-splittingly loud, and several times a day. It's gotten to where you have to leave the room when she does it or risk your head exploding.

Almost more annoying than that though is a phone ringer that I have gone crazy trying to figure out where she heard it. Its really low pitched, and somewhat quiet, almost muffled. It sounds like something you would hear in an office. She will ring that stupid phone for minutes at a time. I keep telling her that no one is home, nobody is going to answer, so QUIT CALLING. She is persistant though, I'll give her that!

What sounds do your birds make that just makes your hair stand on end?

Doyle screaming in my ear is no fun! And Danny cries like a baby (a really high pitched baby). Conure noises in general are pretty bad, thank God they don't do it all the time!

Macaw Contact calling.... wow. Just hope they're not on your shoulder when they start!


That and "airplane" I live very near a small airport, so there is ALWAYS a plane in the sky near us... if Tiki gets started with "airplane" you may as well just start singing "it's a small world, after all" to yourself as it is just as annoying.

I have to agree with Tiffany, a full volume conure contact call is extremly loud right next the the ear. I am so glad that they refrain from this. Mostly they quack like ducks as communication.

Zoey has this Severe Macaw imitation she does.......... glass shattering ear splitting shrill noise.... followed then usually by Sophie and her concrete cracking Ekkie scream. BUT none are as loud as the Amazon that used to live across the hall!!

LOL, mine was and since then I can hardly hear the other sounds!

Merlin's most annoying sound has to be the phone as well, that too is ear splitting! We all cover our ears when he does it and just wait for him to answer it. Bailey and Olivia's most annoying sound is probably their contact call which seems to go on and on eventhough they've already answered the other. Maybe they think someone is stashed away somewhere just waiting to be found. But they can't hold a candle to Merlin's phone!!!

I can handle Tully's occasional freak out and LOUD contact call, what I can't stand, and it ABSOLUTELY DRIVES ME BONKERS... He does a dead on impression of my mother's voice. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom, but good gravy! All day long, "Vic? Are you there? I know you're there! Pick up the phone! Vic? Victoria?"
