Default Leg Leash

I know that attaching a leash to a parrots leg band is unsafe as it can damage their leg if they fall or get spooked or something. I was thinking, what if you attached the leash to the leg band, and then attach the bird leash to one of those retractable dog leashes, that way, if they jump and fly, it will just keep giving them string to go but you could run after them so it would not run out. What do you think about that?

I say no. If you want to use something like a leash or tether go for the harness-type things. I would hate to see a tragedy, broken leg, by accident.

I don't know about your guy but mine can take off in a flash and all you need is for it to get hung up on something and your baby to keep going. Just would hate to see ya have an unfortunate accident.

I would never use that. They get spooked and fly so quickly. Could be a terrible thing.

NO!!!! If you want something, get a harness of flightsuit. the flightsuits have a lanyard that you can get to attach to them. Do NOT hook anything to their legs!

That's why I asked, to see if it was okay, but since I know its not, I won't try it. I do have harness for Jack but he will not let me put it on him yet (we have been working on it). No leg attachments

Sorry if I scared you guys! I would never do something with Jack if I am unsure whether it is safe or not without checking in with you guys first

We have gone through several harness's with no luck. Seymour lets us put it on him and in a matter of seconds has it destroyed. He thinks its so funny
