Default Kita doesn't want to be outside

I am so torn as to what to do. Kita is very unhappy when I put her in her outside aviary. All she wants to do is come back inside. If I move near her direction, she comes running across the perches, begging for me to pick her up. She won't eat outside or take a drink of water.

I want her to be outside for the benefit of the sunshine and fresh air but I don't want to stress her system by forcing her to stay out there when she's showing such obvious signs of discomfort.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is it just today? Maybe there's a hawk or a critter in the trees.

No, it's everyday. I have been putting her outside everyday for a few hours hoping she would get more comfortable. But it's not happening and I know I can't stress her system. She just finished up 4 months of medication for Asper.

Oh jeez. Its hard to read them sometimes. Maybe every other day. Can you get in there with her or sit next to her? This reminds me of Afa's unreasonable behavior when a new toy goes in the room. Its been weeks and she wont go near the new hula ring. Maybe Kita is just being clingy. I hope thats all. But I know there has been things in the trees here and I cant see it for the life of me, for hours. But Alex knows its there. Maybe a stray cat in the bushes, or a new lawn ornament?

This has me scratching my head for sure. This will the 3rd. summer she'll be with us and she's previously enjoyed being outside. She would eat and preen and look content. The only thing we did different this year was increase the size of the aviary. She's so mad when she's out there all she does is run around and bang the toys back and forth and beg me to get her.

Ruby says "outside is fun Kita!" Ruby wasn't to big on outside either when I first got her. Of course, she had never been outside before. I would stand in the doorway (open) with her and when she would look around I would take another step out. Some days we would only get 3 or 4 steps out before she started leaning toward inside but somedays she would sit on the chair with me. She can spot hawks so high up that I can't even really see them without binoculars and then she wants to go in. Wonder if Kita is seeing something that spooks her. Is she out by herself?

No, Kady is out also. They don't share the same aviary though. He's right across from her, there's about 20 feet between them.

I think there is a bird eating monster somewhere. If the aviary door is wide enough is it possible to put the sleep cage in the aviary she may need a "den" for safety. When I first started putting Peanut and co in the aviary they waited for rescue, now they love the aviary and use every inch.

I had the same thought as angie... give her a den... it may just be too open for her. Then again, she may just need some time; that could be a big change after winter.
