Default Kathie? Bird Paradise?

Do you guys have a good dried fruit/nut/veggie mix that you recommend? Something that can be ordered online?

Hey Camille. I use this awesome mix called Dr. Havey's exotic parrot food. It's wonderful! Organic ingredients, all human grade. Lots of fruits, nuts and veggies. Tully LOVES it. It's hard to find though. I usually buy it through the breeder. However if you go to www.drharveys.com they give you a list of the online stores that carry it. I think it's like $25 for a four pound bad. It's a little spendy but well worth it. I usually have to keep my human kids out of it actually! They complain that the birds get better trail mix then they do!

Camille, you should give their Ultimate Blend a try. I started using it about 6 weeks ago and am very pleased with it. It's a Pellet, Fruit, Veggie, Nut Blend with the most awesome smell.

I thought about that Karen because I always hear you guys rave about it. However, she already gets pellets, and it took her so long to start eating them that it would be very hard, if not impossible, to convert her to a different brand. So there would probably be a lot of waste with that. Maybe I'll get a small order of it just to try it.

What brand of pellets are in it? I just assumed that it probably wasn't zupreem fruit blend, tiel sized.

I love the Ultimate blend - it's what got Cosmo to convert from being a seed junkie! I do however, wish they had an option to get it without the pellets added in. None of the fids so far have touched the pellets in the mix - except to move them out of the way or throw them out.

Yep! When she was weaning I tried the medium parrot sized pellets, but she wouldn't touch them. Someone suggested I move down a size so they would be easier for her to eat. Since then I've offered her the larger ones again but she will pick around them to get to her small ones! I wonder if its because she doesn't like to hold them to eat? (Would she hold them? Does Togo eat the larger kind? Does she hold them to eat them?)

All of my guys are on Ultimate Blend also with minimum waste. I think but Im not sure that the pellets are Zupreem. There at least 3 different pellets in there and my guys snack all day long. Mr Rick from BB, rescued a U2 named Mickey. I met him at Parrot Palooza and talked him into the blend. He was a little skeptical and got 1 lb. Well he wrote on BB he was sorry he didnt get more! Her head was in the bowl all day and she was super fussy! Its cheaper when you buy it by the 10lb bag! You should try it Camille!

Togo eats both the "conure/parrot" size (one up from the tiel size) AND the "parrot" size (the "large" size) of the FRUIT Zupreem. She eats the "medium" ("conure/parrot") size in the NATURAL Zupreem. She does hold them. I wonder how Togo would react if I gave her the cockatiel size...I bet the cats would get their share.

(RJ eats the parakeet size in both fruit and natural.)
