I posted the other day 2 things actually...Merlin has discovered that the kitchen sink faucet is a FABULOUS thing. The past 3 nights I've been letting him drink from it throught the PUR filter. The first 2 nights he stepped up for me and last night while I was clenaing the sink out so he could go to it he decided he couldn't wait for me any longer and flew to me from his cage, landed right on my shoulder. Pretty good aim I must say!!! I heard him take off and from the corner of my eye I could see him coming my way, closed my eyes and hoped for the best.
He just makes my heart smile every time he shows his trust in me.
And the other was that my husband found a parakeet in the road near my house. It was fate and I will bore you with details now that my head has stopped spinning.

Fate - I believe!!!!!!
Every day he goes to the gym and he got busy with work and left a little later than usual (he works from home) He finally left, turned the corner onto a semi main road in town and saw this yellow bird making a "controlled" fall from above and land in the lane in front of him. He naturally stopped to take it out of the road and realized it was a parakeet. Picked him up and brought him home.
And my son had an after school program that he was supposed to go to too but "forgot" it was that day so he was home earlier that he was suppsed to be. At that that point my husband walks through the front door and I couldn't see that he was holding something. I asked what he was doing back already when I noticed this little yellow fluff ball in his hand. I took him from his hand and saw he had a bloody nose. IMMEDIATELY called my avian vet and NATURALLY she wasn't in but remembered that I had taken Olivia to Dr. Sedlacek once before. I called him and they told me to bring him right in.
The little birdy was in rough shape. He was 24 grams and barely alive so they needed to keep him to treat him. He told me that he's on the fence at that point, it could go either way. Told me to call back the next morning.
The next morning came and I reluctantly called not knowing what they were going to tell me. They told me he was doing better than the day before, he was perching but not eating on his own. They have been tube feeding him and giving fluids and antibiotics. His weight was down a little bit yesterday afternoon but right now they'll keep an eye on it. They want to keep him for supportive care over the week end. I have yet to call for an update this morning but will do that in a few minutes.
We've posted flyers in stores and will post on telephone poles over the weekend since it's still raining here.
Fingers crossed this little guy pulls through. I've posted on Parrotalert already another site or 2.
Have to run to work now - thanks for letting me bore you!

Have a great day!!!
