Thanks to Quito I tracked down Jean's birthplace in Florida...then found out that the owner Ms. Clubb is divorcing her husband who forced her to auction off her birds....so...any thought of me getting Jean's mom and dad back for him are gone. I mean, that's so cruel to do to her...and I guess the courts allowed him to dump the birds into an auction house. Though...the hal on the phone said she can get me the band numbers and at least I can tell him his mom and dad's numbers, maybe someday I'll be able to find them and give them a home. It really makes me unhappy knowing that Jean could have met his parents and now they're gone. It's going to be a day or so until they fax over what information they have on the parents in their records or information on him. My mom is taking me to florida in March....so maaaaaybe......maybe I'll drive down there to florida and take Jean with me so he can go see his Grandma Susan Clubb, I think it'd make her feel better knowing that one of her first grandfids came back to visit her. That or I'm being too humanly sentimental. Thank you so much though Quito, I probably would never have found the aviary without your pointing in the right direction.

I just met her at the Todd Marcus Anniversay. I didnt know she auctioned off her birds. Ill have to get facts on that. I know she brought birds with her including 1 or 2 Hy's. Interesting.....

That's what the gal said on the phone, I didn't catch her name I didn't mean to make it sound like I talked to her directly, I heard it second hand through the gal who answers the phone.

Ill find out. I know she is a Vet, but realize she was a large scale breeder.

I saw her nursery page, shelves and plastic bins full of little babies! It made my jaw drop watching the slide show before I called them. Thank you Svolk, but honestly I wouldn't have gotten a clue if Quito hadn't known what the Abbv. meant.

i admire your desire to track jean's parents down and congrats that you were successful... without trying to damp the excitement, i don't think jean would care too much - usually the babies detach themselves from the parents (really it's a 2-way process) after fledging.... assuming that jean was hand-fed that would happen even long before the natural process would affect the offspring-parent relationship.. so, if you'd take him to see his parents in case you're able to find out, you might want to prepare yourself that it might not be the happy human-like reunion you might be wishing for... just a word of caution

yep yep, very true! Was thinking the same myself.

Yeah I know... but it'd still give that heart warming feeling to say thank you to the two parents for my pretty boy. ALSO! I did ask about Jean being a split or pied sun and they said they were not trying to breed sun mutations so his coloring is just the result of genetics that his parents had. So SCORE for me ::snuggles Jean::

Jean wont care to meet his parents, I know my birds parents do not like their own babies after a time. Susan Clubb however may enjoy seeing Jean all grown up. I know I like to hear about my babies after they sold.
