Joe, Jazzy, and I were all laying on the bed. Jazzy was running around playing with her ball the all the sudden she ran over to Joe and and bit him hard on his cheek It's not bleeding, but there are a couple marks and he said it hurts a lot. What happened to my sweet girl that I could trust so much?! Why would she do that?! I'm kinda upset...

Oh no!!! Poor Joe! Maybe she bit him because he's being such a hard ass about getting a new baby brother for her!

She might have bitten due to excitement overload. Sometimes parrots get sort of frenzied in their play and go into emotional overload -- and will bite, and bite hard!! Btw, I really feel for Joe. The worst bite I ever received was from my male ekkie -- those guys sure know how to inflict pain!! Hope Joe will heal quickly!

I have to agree with what Kelly said. I have seen it here myself, I swear their eyes just start twinkling when they go into excitement overload. They're so darn complex, but try not to take it personal. I'm sure she didn't even realize what she had done. I hope Joe heals quick.

That's what I was thinking - she just got a little carried away. When we play with Roxie on the bed she always gets a little out of hand and we have to be quick !

I'm actually buying into the theory that she is trying to support your contention that she needs another birdie friend!!

I agree with the excitement overload, Jack gets into that mode all the time! He LOVES to play and when he does he gets super roudy and I have to make sure he understands how rough he is getting.
Have any of you noticed when they start "overloading", they get really fast and make a ton of movements, and act like they have never been played with before so they try to suck it all in?
Hope Joe feels better! Sometimes the bites that don't break the skin, hurt the most!

Oh no! I hope it didn't hurt his feelings too much! I remember the first time Ollie bit Matt (bf). I was so scared that he would give up trying to win her over and wanting to interact with her! Thank goodness that didn't happen!

hehehehehe lol lmao!!!! Yes I'm laughing!! Yes its happened to me! Don't take it personally. You saw my nose pics? That was from playing. I got an idea that its just a bird thing. Its what they do. And we humans don't have durable outer coatings so much. Hopefully he kept his cool with his reaction so Jazzy doesn't think "oh what fun!!"
