Emily, I'm so glad everything is going so well!

None of the birds are Mic. chipped and I am seriously considering getting them because of being fully flighted, etc... Only Lucy is banded and that will be comming off at the next vet visit. How exactly did they take it off? How did Ivy handle it?

Camille- isn't there something about Greys and getting chipped, etc?

i think microchipping is a great idea, personally.

ivy had a stainless steel leg band, which i had never seen before. the doc told me they needed to use bolt cutters to do it! i am sure it's easier with the aluminum ones. they didn't do it while i was in the room, but she was in and out so fast, she seemed to handle it fine. of course, my jaw dropped a bit when looking at the bill in the car and seeing they charged me $25 to remove it lol!

Not that I know of. The problem with greys is their sensitivity to anesthesia, however, no sedation of any kind is needed for microchipping.
