So I walt into the bird room and what do I find? Feathers EVERYWHERE! No joke, it looks like a blizzard! Echo is losing mostly downy feathers, which I was concerned with at first, but she's not plucking and she's never molted since I got her last February. Harley isn't losing as many feathers are she is growing more. I got a couple beautiful tail feathers and an unclipped flight feather yesterday. Lucy...oh gosh...I'm so happy she's molting, but at the same time, all those feathers she's grown and had are comming out...At the same time, I am so happy about this molt because it means she'll *hopefully* grow in all new, healthy feathers!

Even the lovies are molting a little. I'm kind of surprised that they have all gone into this at the same time. Oh well, maybe I'll have a white Christmas after all

all the birds at the shelter are moulting,It looks like a slaughter house in there in the morning LOL. I find they all molt this time of year exspecially when the heat gets turned on.

I think the heat may have something to do with it too. Our sunroom (birdroom) gets poor heating in the winter. We have a nice little heater (bird safe) that gets turned on at night and I've noticed that since its been getting colder, they all seem to be molting.
