I was just thinking about how much Lucy has learned from Echo. They say all the same words which is absolutly adorable. A lot of Echo's phrases involve her name. Like, hello Echo, or Echo Bella. She says these words rather often too. However, Lucy has never once said Echo's name. She always says her name in her phrases. I just think its funny to see that they know who we're talking to or know their names... Has anybody else experienced this?

Lucy must be one smart bird. That is pretty quick to be picking up words from the other birds.

Really? Do most birds not learn to talk very quickly from others?

My guys have learned most of their vocab from each other...some good some bad...a few of my rehomes have quite the mouth

Ollie learned Dakota's mangled version of the Looney Tunes Theme song. Apparently I'm not destined to have a good whistler!

Winston began learning words from Jerry after only a few months, so it's very possible!

Thanks! Its great to have tow birds that both talk to each other. When I first saw an eclectus, he was at the place we board the birds. His buddy in the cage next to him was a CAG. Looking back, I think its so funny that I have a pair that talk back and fourth like tha tto each other- and of the same species
