Patti, I was so sorry to hear that Cosmo had lost his fight. You tried so hard to heal the little guy, and we know how much you loved him. I know everyone here joins me in thanking you for making Cosmo a part of our lives, and we hope that your sharing with us was some help to you in those dark hours.

I don't know that we ever get over the loss completely, nor do I know that we should. I do know that with the passage of time, the hurt and anger lessens, and is replaced with a bitter-sweet memory that becomes a part of our soul. We can never replace them, and right now you are too busy coping with the exhaustion and pain to think very far ahead. At some point though, you will discover that your heart is ready to open again, and a little feathered one will come into your life bringing you all new feelings of love, joy and sometimes frustration.

We'd be honored if you would share that moment with us.

I am so sorry for your loss, and I just realized how insensitive my post, asking about people with male ekkies, might have been. So I apologize.

I know you will never replace Cosmo, but maybe someday taking care of a new baby or rescued parrot would give you an activity to pour all that leftover love into.

I can't imagine how you must be feeling, so I can only wish your pain will lessen with time.

thanks everyone all your kind words always make me feel better cause only yous know ..non bird people didint understand the bond between cosmo and i ...and they were cruel when they heard he died...thats why my comp is up and running cause i knew i had good friends like yous....
...i have to admit yesterday i found my self in a bird store and i was looking at all the wonderful birds and it got me to smile to see all the little antics they do...someday soon i will have another bird to love maybe sooner than i think....
i miss the cooking and cleaning and all of us do for birds..especially the interaction between us and the birds....

your post was not insensitive ...you want to know about them and thats great ...they are wonderful birds to own...
cosmo loved to cuddle and pet from his head down which did surpise me cause they usually dont like the head to be petted...so if anyone ask me whats the best bird i would say an ekkie...
i dont think my next bird will be an ekkie but i wont say no to a resue if one is need...

I too am sorry for your loss.I am sorry to hear that Cosmo is no longer there with you.Just try to remember all the good times you had together. I've always believed that we shall see our friends again, they have merely flown on ahead of us and wait for us on the otherside.

We were also very sad to hear that Cosmo had lost his battle. Just know that you did everything that you could for him. Although short with you from all we have read it was a happy life.

We are there with you in spirit as we have lost one of our guys recently too.

Patti, your love for Cosmo shined through in all your posts. He certainly knew how loved he was by you and I hope the thought of that is of some comfort to you at this time. I am so terribly sorry for your loss.

Patti, I'm so very sorry to hear of Cosmo's passing, I know you tried so hard for him, and know how much it hurts right now. I wish there was something magical I could say to help you feel better, but that only comes with time. Just know that we are all here if you need us.

That Cosmo sure had a lot of fight in him didn't he? Wow what a guy!!! I sure wish I could have met him.
