Default If you could start over--->>>

Would you get birds again and if so, why?

My answer of course is "absolutely"---- they are more than children to me, they are totally impacted by my every decision. I've adopted all of mine and they all needed my help in a different way.

Doing it over I would have visited other "bird folk" to see what it was to care for them, how to handle them, feed and train them. I would have spent more time learning and gathering information before hand.

But as they say---hind site is 20/20!

Absolutely! I wish I would have gotten into birds earlier! My little guys have brought so much into my life - they've changed my life entirely and they make each and every day brighter.

I have had birds since I was four years old. Budgies, tiels, quakers, ringnecks...most recently, Liby my tag was willed to me by a friend who passed away from cancer. Rosie, my grandaughters budgie was bought after she lost her fish in hurricane Charlie. Baby (miligold) was a rescue that was flown to me from Philli. Boca (cag) was a local rescue...she had been totaly ignored other than a daily feeding of seed.

I feel that I didn't have a choice when I got any of my fids. I wouldn't change a thing though and I will do it again if need be.

If I were fidless and looking to home one, it would be a baby cag.

being as I like the way everything has gone so far you bet I would do it all again. To tell the truth the only challenging part has been talking about them on line. And that has been wonderful too.

Of course I would! I just wish I had known as much about birds from the start as I do now, my first poor tiels only got bird seed to eat. My birds taught me about unconditional love and given me more joy than I could ever have hoped for. And they have been the introduction to some wonderful people whom I met online (a few in person) who will be friends for life! Birds have changed my life for the better!

YOU BET!! My first bird came to me when I was 7 years old and I was handfeeding by the time I was 13. I still have the first Cockatiel I ever hand fed, Tilly, who is 25 years old now. I have always had a bird in my life and wouldn't have it any other way! Of course, I have more birds right now than I have every had before. I have always had a job working with birds in one way or another. It's the life I chose and wouldn't have it any other way! I just wish I had a clone so I could do more....

I definitely would do it again but maybe not have soooo many flock members - if I could start over.

Besides the wonderful experiences of bird keeping/breeding/interaction/etc., I have met (in person and in cyberspace) some cool people whom I would never have met otherwise if it wasn't for my involvement in the hobby. These people have enriched my life in many different ways. All in all bird keeping has been a plus for me.

I agree completely! It changes your life completely. It has made me a happier, more patient person. I love my birds, they are my children.
