Default If you could only choose one...

I know that since I've become a member of the online bird community, I have learned enormous amounts of information about the many different species. I now know much more than I knew before I got Ollie, and much, much, MUCH, more than before I got Dakota. This got me thinking about how this may be the case for many people, which led me to wonder if they feel they initially chose the wrong species to be owned by. Or not so much the wrong species, but just not what they now wish they had. Whew- I finally got that out!

So.....
If you could only be owned by ONE particular bird species, what would it be?

I love my pigeon, and I love my tiel, but with no other animal do I share the love that I have for Ollie. I can't say for sure that I love the african grey best as a species because Ollie is the only grey I know, but because of her if I had to do it all again and just pick one, it would be a CAG.

Oh man this is a hard question! And my answer in no way reflects how much I love my birds, cause I love them all for who they are, not their species.

I would have a hard time choosing honestly. I love Doyle's sweet nature, the way he loves to cuddle and gets excited when he hears my voice. I love Scarlett attitude, she is very laid back but comes to her Mommy for scritches and cuddles. Prinny is an absolute sweetheart and VERY quiet (which in a house full of conures and one who likes to imitate the conures is a very nice quality, lol). Danny has his issues but I love that he is an independent and so loyal to Evan.

But I would have to say the Nandays are right for me, Doyle is the sweetest bird and I can always count on him to make me feel loved and appreciated. He just has a great temperment and he loves all people.

Oooh that's an evil question to ask Camille! I will have to think about that before I answer lol, because both the ringnecks and the tiels have qualities that I adore.

You know, Camille, I'd love to answer that question but I am convinced that my birds are so smart that they can probably read what I write over my shoulder -- it only takes one to see what I say as he or she will then whisper to the others and I would be ratted out -- I'm confident that parrot rebellion would break out by morn. So alas, I think for my personal "homeland security" I need to remain mum.

Sorry - can't answer this one! Each one of my birds has different qualities that I absolutely love. All have different personalities - even my three macaws. My Ekkies, too. All 6 are different. My caique has a personality that is a 180 from my Ekkies; my grey is a 180 from my macaws... etc., etc. Sorry!!

Well for me it would be one of the species I already have. I'm leaning towards amazons or ringnecks, but cockatiels and conures are great too, so I don't know!

Please don't ask which one of my birds I'd choose if I could only keep one of them, that I cannot answer!! I love all 5 of them equally.

I could never choose one of my existing fids over the others. If this was a question, choose one to keep and give the others away, I would shoot myself!

Ok if this question is meant as "pretend I don't have any birds right now but I do have all the knowledge I have", I would have to say a Quaker or a Nanday at my current budget, maybe a Caique if money was no object.

I think the right species chose me, my Greenwings. Although I am drawn to Amazons everytime I see them.
