Default I worry way to much....humor me......

How do you know your Fid is happy, and you are doing the right things for them.

...and how do you know they really love you, or put up with you because you feed them....lol

I'm having an insecure, girly, menopausal moment. Bee.....no need for you to answer since you talked me thru my tears last night. xo xo (but of course any input from you is always welcome)

OK, so tell me that I'm a good mommie, and Pita is a happy healthy fid.

You know they're happy by the way they're so excited to see you, and by how loud they yell when you leave the room. You know they're happy by the way they go bottoms-up into that favorite meal you just fixed them. You know they're happy when you listen to them contentedly grinding their beak before bedtime. You know they're happy when they sass you back and refuse to do what you want them to do! Gayla, we will always have moments of self doubt about how we're doing, I know I do. Guess that's one of the reason's we're all here, to make sure we're doing all we can for the little guys.

Pita has tons of toys in every picture I see.
Pita is ALWAYS well showered - that boy loves to be wet!
Pita LOOKS happy and healthy in every picture I see of him (we won't even mention the no-tail thing ).
Pita eats well.
Pita is VERY, VERY loved by you - the way that you worry and think about these things says a lot in itself.

I'd say Pita is pretty darned lucky to have you!

I agree completely with the people above! If you are feeling insecure about him having an off day and not being so nice I have those with Doyle every now and then. Sometimes they are just grumpy.

And like Sarah said he is so well taken care of beyond just feeding him and he knows how much you love him, just as everyone of us on here know how much you love him. Big (((HUGS))) to you!

You and Pita were made for each other. Look at him in your siggy -- lying on the couch there telling the therapist, "gosh, was I good enough to her on Mother's Day?"

You are a great Mom!!

Now just imagine if Pita could answer this question for you, Gayla! What do you think he would say? Probably something along the lines of....."what is there not to LOVE about my Mommy? She worries constantly that she is giving me a good life, she cleans up my poops, feeds me yummy treats, lets me splash around in the water at will, and gives me every toy any sun conure could ever hope for. She lets me crawl around on the couch and look out the window. I figure I pretty much have her twisted right around my big toe!! Yep, that's my Mom! The only thing I wonder about is that darn square boxy thing with the flashing bright light that she keeps aiming at me and clicking. She's always smiling when she does that. I have no idea why it makes my Mommy so happy to point that thing at me and make it go click and sometimes flash, but I figure its a small price to pay for all the stuff she does for me! I LOVE MY MOMMY! Now, can someone please tell me the meaning of my name? "

Yes we all feel this way as well - from time to time - you are not alone.

We buy them toys, gym, new cages. We introduce new foods - we hang out & play with them. They call to use, fly to us, eat our non-edibles [books] - they're pests in every way, cause they think of us as family.

Then there is their form of discipline - way more aggressive than we'd ever do - very confusing some times. + Their inappropriate love objects.

Lots of us have struggled with, 'are we doing enough?' & 'are we enough?'
I think sometimes that's where MBS starts in many cases. Are you thinking of getting another as a bird mate??? We're going there - we started to think we weren't enough for him. We had the same problem when our 2nd cat died & even when our 2nd fish died [long story]. I know a lot of time we are plenty of company.

I do agree with everyone here when they say I've yet to see a more pampered bird - Pita is adorable & always looks wonderful. + Bee has confirmed your Mom abilities - you do a great job.

Remember [how could you forget!] you had a big car accident not very long ago - you are still healing - mentally & physically - that must have some impact[no pun] on your self-esteem - but please give yourself a break.

Psssssst - how's the hair growing back? - now that really hurts a girl's esteem!

I can only agree with what the others have said. Pita always looks so happy in all the pictures you post of him. And the fact that you doubt yourself - proves that you care and love him and want what's best for him - which means you a WONDERFUL bird mommy!!

i find myself always amazed by how you can put things into words, kelly.... i can't agree more with the above...

i can tell by comparing him when he's with you to when he's with me.... he sure is much much more comfortable with you than with me, and i still see the look on his face when he heard your voice through the speaker phone...

that little boy is nice and polite with everybody, but he's all about you when it comes to going beyond nice and polite - you asked me? he LOVES you heaps
