Every night after lots of play time I go to the kitchen and prepare their veggies and also wash bowls and prepare their bed time snacks. Jerry and I usually have a little ritual at this time and as soon as he sees me get up to go to the kitchen he's right on my heels and peering off my shoulder with the, "Ok, I'm ready, where's the food??!!" look. I call him my little Helper Budgie and he hangs out with me as I let him take a dip in the kitchen sink after I wash bowls and he gets a handout or two of Avicakes when I'm making bedtime snacks.
Lulu will sometimes join in the food-hounding, but not too often. Winston hasn't caught on just yet......until last night.
First I had Jerry with me, as usual, and he was being quite insistent about getting more than his fair share of seed handouts. Then Lulu joins in the mix and refuses to get off my arm. She was determined. I noticed Winston peering at me from the next room, on top of Lulu's cage. He was staring and staring at me and I could see those English wheels turning LOL. Then - lo and behold - Winston flies in and first watches the madness from the kitchen window sill. But not for long (he's VERY food-motivated!) - he then began to pester me too and refuse to leave my shoulder
So I had all 3 monkeys in a constant buzz around my head and on me while I tried to guard the food bowls so that they didn't eat their seeds before their veggies. I also had a hard time wrestling Jerry away from his veggie mix that I was trying to thaw and warm up but he wanted it NOW, cold or not!
They do always amuse me
