Default How Bella Beats the Heat and Itchies

Well we're having a bit of a heatwave here in the Philadelphia area and of course it's that time of the year for our FIDS time to molt so here's pictures of Bella AFTER a long shower.

And, I LOOOOOOOVE wet birdie butts! Especially wet grey birdie butts.

I have a plant mister I use on her but today the rest of the sink came into play today. I had the faucet running and filled the sink up a little. She got soaked and I did too. It had to feel grey't. I think she's one of the few greys I know that really likes to get wet.

Great pics of Bella, as usual!

I guess I need to break down and get a mister of some sort. Ollie has never been that wet, and I've even tried dipping her up to her head into the kitchen sink full of water. No luck. She's like a water repeller.

Few things are cuter than a wet bird!

Here in England, air conditioning pretty much does not exist. So, if yours ever breaks down, you can do what I did in a heatwave - I keep frozen bottles of water in my freezer, then hang them in/near the cage. If Humph gets too hot, she rubs her body on the condensation on the cold bottle, and licks it too. I can't remember who gave me that great tip but Humphrey has great fun with it, and keeps cool too.

Same here with Tuki!!! It's so frustrating! I know he's itchy with his first molt but it just runs right off his back! (Plus he hates it!)
