Default HELP! Cage Question!

I am looking for a new cage for Einstein (CAG). My question is this, Do any of you with CAG's have cages with 1 inch bar spacing? Is that to much space for a grey?

Thanks,.
Jennifer

I have a cage with 1in. It's not exactly what I love, but it's small enough so he can't get his head through. It's not too much, but if you have a cage where the bars are bendable, it could be a safety hazard. As ling as the bars are unbendable, it should be ok.

The cage I am looking at is wrought iron, do you think they would be bendable?

Mine is powder coated, and as long as it's sturdy, it should be ok. Do you have any pics you could post?

I think one inch is okay, but is not preferred. Wrought iron cages with 1" bar spacing are usually fairly sturdy. Do you have a website to which you can direct us (showing a picture)?

I have Greys using one inch bar spacing indoors and no problems yet (been using for yrs. that size spacing). I am using the Behemoth MaCaw cage 80"x40" & the large corner cages (both HQ cages) & my Greys just love the roominess. I suggest you go with the longest and largest cage you can make room for and can afford and remember the ole saying: " Where There is a Will, There is a Way".

Definatly the largest cage you can! Echo is in my macaw's old dome top cage, which is still very roomy. I think the measuments are 48"l 42"d 62"h.

Wow, yea, I definatly think that will be ok! It looks to be powder coated. I have 2 PCed cages and love them. They are easy to clean and keep. Over time, however, they can chip. But, it looks nice, I really like the size. One thing though, remove the tray under the play top so it's not dark in the cage

Yes, that cage will suffice but if ya have the room, I would still go bigger. Know anyone driving up from South Fla. - if ya do, I could send ya one of the Behemoths for probably the same or near same price.

Dominique makes a great point, best to remove the upper tray so your good quality F.S. Lighting will shine down on your bird.
