It's raining right now so we're getting a nice break from the field! I thought I'd give a little update on the fids.

Ollie is finally feeling more comfortable in Dakota's cage. She'll actually fly over to it now to go in and eat or play. She's a little miffed that we're still in Beloit. The poor thing also is a bit sleep deprived. Nobody sleeps much during harvest (nerves on edge), and it's difficult for her to sleep when people are up and around. She's down to about 8 hours from 12. It's just her and my mom during the day and it's quiet so she's able to nap as much as she wants. However, instead of napping she's been busy telling everybody how "NAUGHTY!" they are- her latest word. And boy does she say it like she means it, lol!

Dakota is angry about his small cage. He also had to be moved to my dads office because he wakes with the sun and thus threatens to deprive Ollie of even more hours of sleep. However, he picked up a new trick. He can now do the wolf whistle which he must have learned from Ollie.

Mollie and Mira were out to exercise yesterday morning. Mollie is upset about not being let out as much since we started cutting, and he did NOT want to go back in his cage. It took me 30 minutes to catch him. I've never had any problems getting him back in his cage before yesterday.

Mira's begging behaviors have definitely diminished. No more trying to bury her head in my hand. Of course she's still as sweet as ever though, she's just growing up. And if I'm not mistaken, also starting to act more 'male-ish'!

So.....there's the update! Just a few more days of cutting left (after the rain quits) and then I'll be back! I can't wait- I miss PC!

It's great to hear from you Camille, and also to get an update on the fids! Poor babies, it sounds like you're going to have some making up to do when harvest is over, someone thinks you've been very naughty! I'll bet you're glad there's only a few days left! Do you usually drive combine or truck?

Yeah, I'll definitely have some making up to do! I'm the grain cart driver, so I drive a tractor.

LOL Ollie cracks me up with the words she chooses to say - Wanna squirt, Poopers, and now Naughty. And after viewing the videos of that grey that you posted the other day, the one who said stuff like, "Say Kenny. Kenny. Kenny." it just cracks me up at how different our birds are about what they choose to say

If Mira turns out to be a male then I believe your career in Pigeon naming might be over

It amazes me all the time the things Ollie chooses and doesn't choose to say. For instance, "I LOVE YOU"- Come on....how hard can it be?! But yet she'll say "GO POTTY" at the top of her lungs.

LOL! Echo goes through 5 minutes incriments f saying "I love you, I love you" over and over. I love to listen. Unfortunatly, I havn't heard any of this for the past few days. But, when I told her about Lucy, she said "Ooooo, happy bird, good girl" I cried about that!
