So I got home from school, say 'hi' to my mom and brothers and head to the bird room to knock out my chores. I say hello and talk to each of the fids before changing out the cage papers, cleaning the grates and vacuuming. Well, I leave the room for a couple minutes and hear an ear piercing scream from Lucy. I come running back to find her on Harley's cage (these two do not get along at all!). Well, I get Lucy off Harley's cage and when I look at my hand, there's blood on my hand! I went into shock! I run and get a blanket (which Lucy DID NOT like) and wrpa her up in it. Then I go and get the bleed stop stuff (for birds' toe nails, beaks and feathers). Fortunatly, I was able to get it to stop bleeding to see. Its going up the side of her nail, but isn't jagged or anything.

What worries me most is how she got out. Her doors were closed and the seed doors and lock on the door is bir proof (spring loaded). I just hope nothing like this happens again...

Hope you can figure it out before it happens again. I bet it was just a slightly open door - maybe in your hurry you didn't catch it just right?

Hope they learn from this. How typical that she'd go right were she shouldn't.

A few months after getting Occy, we came home one night to find him wondering through the second floor. He chewed pathos plant that was hanging from the ceiling. I never ever imagined he would or could get to it. I still to this day have no idea how he got out and closed his exit back up. They are smart babies. Maybe Lucy had to learn a hard lesson but Im sure she will be ok.

Oh my! I've never had a birdget out without ther ebeing some expainable reason. But this is crazy! I've looked and checked and still have no idea. I've got her door locked with a seperate lock as well as the seed doors. I just worry that something worse could happen...

She seems fine tonight. She let me look. Thank goodness its not bad.

Quick question: Aren't female eclectus supposed to get really aggresive and mean when they are hormonal?
