WHen it was a discussion what would happen here, they said bird owners would be forced to hand over and surrender their pet birds! You should reach out to Shanlung..he might me able to make it all clear for you. The birds have no voice in this and you could lose them forever. Its a long trip for a human. Imagine a bird in a carrier all that time. |
He's not a pilot but it's a military plane he made it clear when we moved there I am not flying commercial I'm not risking them he's cleared it with his commanding officer about my position ON the birds and other people on base have them, I'm not budging on the topic of them going or not going and as for my meds, I do respect you a lot, but, I want to point out the past year or more I have weaned myself off them and can function just fine without them now.
THe birds will live on base most likely with us if we have to move back to the base, for right now he doesn't, it's the island of Okinowa not the bigger part of Japan. |

I'm not changing my opinion on this. Those are the two options, one of them will pan out. And if I get even 1 msg like I got from two of my friends already offering to buy my birds off on me I'm going to have a fit. I'm not selling my Fids.
It's an 8 hour flight and I will put them both in roomier carriers I don't care if it costs more. They will both be fine... I under stand what you're saying but you going that direction upsets me about my birds. I get my information from Fred, and I trust what he's telling me if he says by marriage I get to go on one plane then I believe him. I was really confused on that note too though because I thought it'd be commercial but no because it's a sponsored move as a spouse I'm covered with moving over there. It upsets me a lot hearing that I should just turn over my fids.
I see the link you sent, thank god for the fact they'd be able to renter, I do have their paperwork stating who bred them, and where they were bred from in the US because Jean came from HAI and Data came from the gentleman who runs Birds Unlimited and I've been in contact with both. |
Its 8 hours from where? Not PA! You would have a to find the quarantine station in Japan and fill out Japanese paperwork for them to take the birds. I dont know who is telling you what but you wont be flying on a military plane unless you are in an evacuation as a spouse on base. Otherwise, you would go commercial. Regardless of rank, those strings cant get pulled! Tinna Im being honest with you. None of this sounds right. So Im being a mom here. Someone is not telling you the truth. I have nothing to gain either way by sitting you down here. Marry someone you dont know and moving to Japan? Have you applied for a VISA? You cant just pick up and move somewhere overseas. Your last thread said you havent seen this person in 6 years or something. Do yourself and your birds a favor. Put them in some type of temp fostering if you really go. Dont put them through that. What if he gets moved to a staion where there is active war? Then what happens to your birds? I think you really should be discussing all this will a trusted family member. I dont think you will feel comfortable with feedback from us. |

You are very right I am not comfortable, anymore with where this is going and it's about 8 or something hours flying from seatac he's helping me move mys tuff from PA in march back to washington and we're leavin git there temporarily, there is a quarantine station two blocks from where he lives so it's just around the corner from his house. He's not going to Iraq, I've had this discussion with him, there's a lot of private things I haven't mentioned here I Just wanted to let you guys know what was going on and I was a bit curious about what to do with them. I trust Fred, I know you're a mom, but my grandmother has already signed off on this with her blessings and in december he's going to finish winning over the rest of the family as we are still going through the motions of getting things finished. I'm applying for my Visa in september too and I'm going to take a class on the language for Japan so that way I can at least find my way around on a minor scale. |

I already know I'm pretty much staying indoors most of the time without him around because I don't have anywhere to be in Japan unsupervised -.-0 |
