Fun With Harley and Echo So the girls (I love saying that!) and I had an awsome day today. I had a baby sitting job early this morning so I rushed out. I thought my mom was staying home today, but she left early. She called and told me Echo was in the dome and she put Harley in the play top. Now the new play top is 4" wider than the dome, so I wasn't too worried about the space. What I was worried about was the fact that Harley was going to destroy all of Miss Echo's dainty grey toys. As soon as the job ended, I rushed home, switched them back and let out a sigh. Harley had been swinging on Echo's swing the whole time, lol.
So, I fed them and asked my mom to go to the bird store to get some food. I was 'clensing' the birds for the past three days after I learned that seeds are coated with a preservative that can cause health issues. So, the birds have been getting no seed (I used the rest and stopped). My mom went to the Aviarium where they sell Roudybush and Harrisons and asked what I wanted. I wanted Roudybush because I had no luck with Harrisons last time. She buys that and a bag of nuts for Harley (she spoils her, lol). When she gets home, she brings in the groceries from the Costco run and I have a fresh fruit and veggie attack. There was pineapple, kiwi, sweet pepper, bell pepper (yellow orange and red) broccili, green beans, spinach, spring mix and apples. I was crazy about the apples because the fids hadn't had them in months. So, I bolied eggs, made brown rice, and fixed them the biggest meal ever. I also gave them some pellets to try.
I love my Harley! She immediatly started eating them, and in fact ate the 2 tbs I gave her, none were in the bottom of her cage. Then, she begged for more! I thought I was going to scream with joy! Echo put her head in the bowl and shook and stearn no. I said, well there's not going to be any seed and she continued to argue and in the end, said very firmly "No, badd bird, you're a bad bird" (try to tell me off). Oh well... Then, I found this awsome new cleaner than has very low fumes. I opened the windows and took the birds out, thinking I was going to have to try this stuff. Well, Echo had seperation anxiety and was scratching at the door to the bird room. Only half the room got cleaned before I have in. Then, we all sang to country music and danced around, it was wonderful!
