Default Fun With Harley and Echo

So the girls (I love saying that!) and I had an awsome day today. I had a baby sitting job early this morning so I rushed out. I thought my mom was staying home today, but she left early. She called and told me Echo was in the dome and she put Harley in the play top. Now the new play top is 4" wider than the dome, so I wasn't too worried about the space. What I was worried about was the fact that Harley was going to destroy all of Miss Echo's dainty grey toys. As soon as the job ended, I rushed home, switched them back and let out a sigh. Harley had been swinging on Echo's swing the whole time, lol.

So, I fed them and asked my mom to go to the bird store to get some food. I was 'clensing' the birds for the past three days after I learned that seeds are coated with a preservative that can cause health issues. So, the birds have been getting no seed (I used the rest and stopped). My mom went to the Aviarium where they sell Roudybush and Harrisons and asked what I wanted. I wanted Roudybush because I had no luck with Harrisons last time. She buys that and a bag of nuts for Harley (she spoils her, lol). When she gets home, she brings in the groceries from the Costco run and I have a fresh fruit and veggie attack. There was pineapple, kiwi, sweet pepper, bell pepper (yellow orange and red) broccili, green beans, spinach, spring mix and apples. I was crazy about the apples because the fids hadn't had them in months. So, I bolied eggs, made brown rice, and fixed them the biggest meal ever. I also gave them some pellets to try.

I love my Harley! She immediatly started eating them, and in fact ate the 2 tbs I gave her, none were in the bottom of her cage. Then, she begged for more! I thought I was going to scream with joy! Echo put her head in the bowl and shook and stearn no. I said, well there's not going to be any seed and she continued to argue and in the end, said very firmly "No, badd bird, you're a bad bird" (try to tell me off). Oh well... Then, I found this awsome new cleaner than has very low fumes. I opened the windows and took the birds out, thinking I was going to have to try this stuff. Well, Echo had seperation anxiety and was scratching at the door to the bird room. Only half the room got cleaned before I have in. Then, we all sang to country music and danced around, it was wonderful!

The End.

Sounds like you had one busy day! I can picture the scratching at the door and you finally just giving in lol Gotta love dancing and singing with something that actually dances and sings with you!

I wish my family was as into the birds as I was and enjoyed being with them and doing things with them, they don't mind Jack and do like her but not as much as I wish they would. You know how if you have a dog, it is a family pet that everyone always loves and gives attention to, and everyone is a part of its life. Jack is basically my life, with others "added in" sort of...

Any videos of the dancing and singing? You know everyone would LOVE to see it lol
How well do Echo and Harley get along?

What a great day. You can tell they love their mommy. That is so funny what Echo said.

Yea, Echo's a hoot! She back talks like you would not believe. Oh well... it's parronthood! Like I'v said, those who own birds don't live in reality!

Glider- your family sounds a lot like ours. My parents love and support my love for birds, but they aren't into it like I am. But, it's getting better. I try to involve them with the birds. When my mom's making dinner, I'll be in there making dinner for the fids. I try to do the smae thing only different. Slowly, she's falling in love. Several times I'v caught her in the bird room stealing Harley's love from me and sweet talking Echo. I think that the more I involve my parents with the fids, the more they want to be invloved... It's just very slow...
