Fruit he's not that big on, has to be in the mood. We enjoy Anise this time of year, he picked some up nibbled alittle, right to the bottom the cage it went.Any suggestions..Thanks | |

#10 | | | Re: Fresh Foods : How Many Times? All my birds except for the canaries and cardinales get gloop (cooked grains, rices, legumes with corn, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and/or pumpkin, broccoli or broccoli-rabe and the fruit(s) or veggie(s) and spices that make the flavor of the day), one piece of vegetable, one piece of fruit, one leafy green -different every day of the week- for breakfast (the time depends on the solar schedule -right now is at 8:30am). All of them eat veggies and fruits (the ones that have been with me longer more variety than the new ones, but they all do) but only the little ones and some of the big ones would eat fresh leafy greens although none of them have a problem with eating them cooked. Dinner is a measured portion of seeds and pellets except once a week during the winter months when they get a small piece of birdie bread for dinner (the portions of seeds/pellets are also smaller during the winter to reduce protein intake). |
