of the back to basics thread, is how our little lovelies can totally freak us out too!!

I come home for a bite to eat and say hello to all the birdies as I walk by. I notice Sophie is sitting in her food bowl. Both feet. Body relaxed down to the rim of the bowl. Her head laid over the outside of the bowl between the bowl and the perch, up side down. Too much room to be stuck. She is just sitting there, beak against the bowl. Not moving. Not making any noise. Not even a twitch.



I call her name. Nothing. I call again. Still nothing. I'm full of fear (I had just got news of a friend that died Friday in a car wreck) So I say "Sophie honey you ok??!!" Still nothing!!! Not even a twitch.



But her eyes are open, and I can tell now they are alert. I rattle the latch and she sorta looks up at me then her head goes back down!!! Every thing I have heard in the last 3 years or so is flying threw head!! What is going on my poor little Sophie!!



Then I see it. In her bowl. Sophie is having a ding dang blasted stare down contest with her reflection!!!

that would have given me a heart attack! but that is so funny! sophie sounds like SUCH a character!

That was some scenario. Maybe you should buy a noisemaker to liven them up when you come in.

Oh me, first I'm worried stiff about what was happening & then I'm having the best belly laugh. Seriously - I just wiped away a tear! They do know how to scare the willies out of us don't they?
