Today, for the first time ever, Mikey refused to step up on Deb when he saw her (it's been a few weeks). Last time, he didn't recognize her (she dyed her hair) for a few minutes, but finally came in for a snuggle. Today, I'm sure he recognized her, but he refused to get off me and step up onto her or accept snuggles.

He loves his Mama BEST, finally!!!!!

Deb, you did a WONDERFUL job with him, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising him up to be such a good Mama's boy. I could never ask for a better mentor or friend. I finally feel like Mikey is well and truly MY baby, now, and I am so grateful to you for helping him grow into a strong, confident and independent young fellow :-) Thank you!

I know Deb loved Mikey too, but it is important for you to know you are now his real Parront. That is a tough transition for you both.

It's been a long time coming. I love this blue goon with a passion, but he always favored Deb, who was his handfeeder. I finally feel like HE knows he's my baby, now. Before, I always wondered whether he'd ever love me as much as he loved Deb. She did a great job. Raised him up right, helped me every step of the way, and let him go when it was time. I know how hard that is to do--after all, when Indy Blue went to live with his parronts, it was as hard a thing for me to deal with as anything I could bear. I prayed I'd love Mikey like I love Blue, and so, in time, it came to pass. Now that Mikey loves me as much as I love him, life is just as it should be! After all, I can't be away from him for more than a few hours without missing him. It's only right that he should love me too, I think :-).

That's wonderful Christie. Sad for Deb, because now her job is truly over, but wonderful for you!
