Kelly, I'm just guessing, but I would think longer with nothing to chip or rust. I have a powder coat cage here that is causing me all kinds of grief. Kita has been in it at night only and after a short 9 months, she has the entire bottom almost stripped of the powder coating. I'm assuming if allowed, it will rust and be garbage within the next several months.

Kelley, I don't know about the longevity of SS compared to "regular" cages, but over time, I'll let you know how it goes.

We have SS for Mikey, and plan to get it for Arthur, because both birds are famous for chipping powder coating off bars like it's candy. We just disposed of Arthur's old cage because of that very problem. It looked like a dalmation dog over every square inch of it. Hys are also supposed to be master weld-breakers. I'll let you know as Mikey gets older. Perhaps Gary and JR could add some perspective in that particular area, being a multi-Hy family?
