I must say that lately Eve is looking well...exceptional. For what ever reason this time of years brings out the best in his feather quality. I have to enjoy it now because soon, all these pretty feathers will turn brown and dull in order to moult out. This is the time of the year that Eve's feathers get the darkest, he is almost black with a silver sheen. Sooo pretty I had to share.

Did you change his diet this year? Was wondering if he was looking so good because of your good 'feeding' skills.

He does have different colors so to speak, depending on time of the year, the chemical makeup of the oil in their preening gland changes throughout the year which in turn changes the color of their feathers from light grey to black to brown, and than they moult and it starts all over again. This is the darkest and glossiest he gets throughout the year. This year seems to be particularly good, the only thing I've added is kashi to his diet. But I don't know if it is just him maturing, or the addition of the kashi.
