Default Enjoying the sunshine

I took these this past weekend when we had the most beautiful sunshine and perfect temps. I've only been taking the birds out in Winston's small travel cage but I've been contemplating getting a larger cage to store in the garage and wheel outside on nice weather days.

The budgies are munching on carrot tops:

That's so sweet - did Lulu get out at another time?

Must have been exciting for them all. The wind is still too cold on the balcony for me to get the lads out in the morning to get some rays.

The larger cage sounds like a mini aviary idea. Have you seen the cute hen houses that people build? They have a wheel barrow style for moving them around or like a Chinese limo - you & Dave together & poles to lift it up [if you can understand the reference].

I have an outdoor cage for Boca and Libby. If they go out at the same time, I have to wheel one of the huge, heavy cages out the door. The budgies aren't a problem because they are in a lighter cage. I still, one day, want to build an aviary with a window from the inside of the house.

Yeah I think I will look into a big cage that will be an outdoor cage - it will serve as a temporary outdoor mini-aviary since my plans to build an outdoor aviary have been put on hold for several reasons. A cage could be a good solution though as I could easily roll it away into the garage when not in use (ie - during the WINTER lol).

Lulu did go outside separate from the budgies. The boys did ok in the cage together since there were so many distractions from the outside and also the carrot tops. Jerry tries to go up and sing to Winston but he still gets a bit nervous and couldn't sit still in the cage with him.

I'm off work tomorrow and should be in the 70s again and I've been trying to get them outside when the weather has permitted (very unpredictable weather lately, 80s on Monday then frost this morning!).

They all look quite happy being out. Did they enjoy the sun? I love it when temps cooperate and I can give showers and then put them outside to dry in the sun.

I hear you about the temps. We must be in the same weather pattern. Frost warnings again for tonight.

The first Tornado rolled through here, this is when we know the warm temps will follow.
Rose brought some of the birds outside today as she cooked on the grill, clipped or not, my flags always go up, am to old to be climbing trees and running to catch clipped birds.

"Your birds are simply awesome".
I enjoyed the pictures very much, such beauties.

Great Pics!!! They look real happy!

I had a barbeque Monday and Jewel spent a ton of time outside on the harness. She loves it. The rest of them come out in travel cages also.

I wonder if you could get a harness for a budgie.

Yes they do have harnesses for Budgies - it really makes me laugh to think of getting them on Laker or the evil Rio! But it would be a hoot to go for a walk with them on my shoulder.

I only know of one person who tried it & they had to snip pieces away to make it lighter - it was a Budgie diaper with a leash.

I was thinking of the one Shanlung made for Tinkerbell. I wonder if I crocheted one .....hmm nice project idea. A Budgie vest.

I just love looking at your birds. I want to get mine outside, too, but it is still too cool here.
