#4 | | | Re: Ebay selling Hy eggs.... *sigh* I reported it as well. I read the guidelines about what can be listed. I hope eBay really checks into this; it appears as if they allow parrot eggs BUT Hyacinths are an endangered species and a CITES listed bird.
***eBay also permits the sale of hatching eggs provided the seller only offers domestic shipping within the U.S.***
***Mounted specimens, feathers, and eggs of captive-bred, non-endangered non-native birds such as ostriches, emus, exotic pheasants, Mandarin ducks, guinea fowl, peafowl, and most parrots may be listed on eBay if not listed or sold in violation of state or local laws applicable to the buyer or seller.*** |

1. Go to the bottom of the page of the item you want to report, where you'll see "report this item". Click it: 2. It'll take you to a place with drop-down menus for you to choose from. In this case, in step 1, you'd choose "prohibited (banned items". It will open up a second drop-down menu for step 2. In this case you want "animals, plants and wildlife". That opens up another drop-down box for step 3. In this case you want to click "live animals". Then click "continue" at the bottom of the page.
There is also a choice to click on " items containing parts of regulated, protected or endangered species", which, if they actually allow eggs of "non-endangered" birds, might be the preferable thing to choose from the drop-down menu. 3. If you're not already signed-in, it'll take you to a place to do that, first. If you are, the next thing that comes up is this page. Ignore everything else, and where it says "Contact Customer Support", click on the "email us" link: 4. It'll take you to a "My Messages" page, and it already has the item number filled in the box. Simply hit "send", and you're done! It'll take you to a "thank you" page, and at some point you'll get a message either in your email or your "my messages" section of "my ebay", confirming that you've reported that item.
And even better, it goes a lot faster than it took me to write this! *grins* |
