Default Do your Birds like wood toys or plastic

Kally loves to chew on little beads, she tries to break them in half, and works on all of them till she has all the beads gone LOL Small pieces of wood is a big hit with Kally as well, but they have to be very thin, or she does not go near the toy.

Monty, Loves wood, more wood, and lets see???WOOD lol.HEHEHE.
He is not a big one for the big hard plastic beads, or even the wiffel ball. his favorite still is wood.

What do your birds like......its so interesting with toys, because all birds have a different liking of toys or what they like to chew on.

My suns like a plastic ball thing, plastic barrels to throw and thin wood. The budgies like beads, paper and rope. The ringies like shredding wood and branches.

Plastic, bells, balls, acrylic, etc. here. Neither of mine are big chewers, they play with, knock around and beat up toys.

bella girl chews all the time (sometimes i'm wondering if her jaw muscles will be enhanced in a year or two).... you can get her to hit a plastic toy on occasion, but real interest is only sparked when there's wood involved which immediately gets distroyed...

valo loves acrylic stuff he chews here and there, but as soon as it's plastic, colorful, shiny and makes noise, he's all for it.... oh, and there's nothing better than bells, and wiffleballs (of which bella is afraid )

lol - guess it depends on the bird

Gracie loves plastic toys. She really hasn't touched her toys made out of wood. Maybe she'll grow into them tho.

Since people seem to be responding to this thread even if they don't have macaws. Could 1 of you mods move it that way more people can see it?

What often happens is that many of us navigate the forums by using the "New Posts" feature, which works really well, but also makes it easy to not notice which forum page a thread originated in.

As a courtesy to Ingrid, who started the thread, I wanted to talk to her first. She agrees that it is a good idea to move it, so it now resides here in the Parrot Chatter forum. We're all finding it interesting to find out what each other's birds preferences are for toys!
