Default Do beaks bruise?

My CAG Schroeder has a weird discoloration on the ridge of his beak. Its lighter in color and looks almost brown. It doesnt seem to be tender and the rest of his beak isn't pealing.

Am I worrying for nothing or is this someting that should be checked out?

I'm glad to read whatever it is, it's not bothering him. Beaks can bruise. Can you post a picture?

I tried taking a picture but the LCD on my camera is broken and I can't figure out how to turn the flash off without reading the screen (and the flash covers up the little bruise)

Its very small and hardly noticible but definantly brown and lighter in color than hsi black beak.

Yes, beaks can bruise. Ceilidh's currently sporting one where Mikey bit him when they got into a bit of a tussle. Both Bob and Arthur have had them before, too.

Thanks Christie! That is good information to know.

I would just keep an eye on it Kate, it's probably just a bruise that will soon go away! Babies just play so hard...

Thanks! If a beak were to bruise on a dark/back beak, would it be reasonable to believe that it woudl turn a lighter color and more brown than the black beak itself?

As long as it doesn't seem to be bothering him I shouldn't take him in?

He does play really hard, sometimes I'm amazed he has any energy left in him at all!

If it were me, it would be something I would keep an eye on. If I were to notice any discomfort or any further worsening changes, then I would head to the AV.
