I thought I would start this thread and everyone please join in about your bird/s day.

It is the turn of the birdies I don’t normally mention. Tessica the irn is becoming quite a character. She is very much FOOD motivated, and in typical ringneck fashion she will try anything. Yesterday I was cutting up beans in the kitchen, she was leaning from the side of her cage peeping around the corner to see what was happening. I had to share with her since she gave the most polite contact call, not the normal fairly loud call. She got an entire bean, this proved to be a problem for her since she had to climb back to the top of the cage to enjoy her bounty. She did quite well till the bean got caught in the bars and it fell, after continuing minus the bean to the top she then leaned over and asked so politely for her bean. Her cage mates Honey and a baby sun got a share of cut up beans on top of the cage. Honey has not yet realized how feet can be used to hold food, she needs a bit more practice. It sure seemed novelty food served like that, they get chopped green beans often in the mix maybe they just wanted to eat it separate.

Awe that's so sweet. Don't you just love to see that they know they can count on us to make it right for them!

Kady and Kita got some new toys from Michelle (For Birds Sake Toys) the other day which included this:



Kady proceeded to rip a piece of paper off the toy, ball it up in his beak and then daintily sip his water through it!

Isn't that the truth!
A day in the life of my bird usually includes at least 1 instance of him scaring the crap outta me! @_@ Or like today, I had Winkie on my knee & he did the wiggleneck that p'lets do. It was the first time in months!
The other day I was sitting on 1 of our chairs in the living room & - turning my head - saw Winkie cleaning his feet!
