YouTube - Star Trek Poolside

Come to think of it I haven't shown these G4 things to my brother yet where Spock OWNS Kirk.

By the by.... those who've owned cockatiels, my Jean isn't a huge snuggle face, so on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, how much of a snuggler on average is a cockatiel?

I can only judge by my female, Lulu, who is about 2 years old. She's suuuuuuuch a sweetheart. She will sit on our shoulder or knee all night long if we let her. And she just melts for head scritches, she'd make us do that all day if she had it her way. She does have somewhat of a female attitude, if ya know what I mean - say we'll be scritching her head, then the next second she decides that we're not doing it right so she'll get huffy and hiss at us. But then literally the next second after that she's begging for more scritches. She is slightly more bonded to my husband and he can do a little more snuggling with her, like snuggling under his neck and he can almost lay her on her back (she won't let me do that).

Dakota is a little lover, especially with my mom, his chosen person. He would snuggle in bed with her all day if she'd let him. I'm allowed scritches as long as she's not in sight!

DATAS HOME....sorta. Kinda....... see he's at my mom's house five hours away and I'm here.... and mom doesn't know if she's bringing him this weekend, or next weekend. Either way, the bird is coming between 2 days from now....and 9 days. Mom is sending me more pictures which will be posted up around tomorrow if she remembers to bring the memory drive to work. I know this is an older thread, so instead of starting a new one about the same thing since this wasn't entirely off the first page yet I figured it'd be okay to update it.

Great that he is home. At least this way you have some quarantine over before you get him/her.

I'm not planning too long of a quarantine for him. I trust Paul, he is very particular about who handles the birds, if anyone even gets to touch them prior to buying. The cages are cleaned frequently. So the quarantine will be between 10 and 20 days, I know most people go longer but I am a very impatient person and the bird is healthy, friendly, the man has given seminars to colleges on avian health for goodness sake. He'd never sell a bird who had a risk of disease I respect him a lot.

The only thing I'm sad about is I found out my favorite treat to give Jean, "Treasters" the nut and peanut butter infused candy bar for parrots may no longer be sold at his store anymore. I love buying them for Jean, but if he stops selling them I'm not sure where I'll find them, a while back I looked on ebay for them and 6$ for a bar when it should be about 1.50 is ridiculous.

He's almost home! 10 or 20 days of quarantine is better than some people can do.

It's especially hard because I want to make a music video with the two of them in it and I can't do that unless they have some close quarters contact (they have to stand within 1.5 feet of each other for some of the shots I have planned so I don't have to spend 20 minutes photoshopping them together for each frame) because remember a bit back I suggested we do a Fid Music Video contest and I want to win

DATA PICS! He's on Jean's old cage...my god he looks like the devil in that last one another clear sign he belongs to me....

And I for one, believe in reincarnation...and in the Third pic I almost cried. My first bird was a parakeet named Alexander and he has cheek spot markings that weren't there when I first picked him out that look like Xander's...

I know someone's gonna try and debunk it so don't bother it's my belief and a comforting idea to think that Alexander, after I put him in that planter so he could turn into flowers, the flowers actually died at the end of the year and I took that to signify that he'd moved on (they were the kind that come back every year and they did not in the spring) so... Maybe he came back. We'll see if he's like Alexander was.

And BTW that god awful messy room is not mine. The messy room is my brother's. Where my bird is forced to stay for the time being. >_<
