Tonite was kickin!
One time..Baby took the ring, walked with it in her beak over the the playtop and let me take it from her without a fight! She didnt' drop it, but she took it and walked her green hiney over to me on the other side of the cage and held in in her beak. Gosh durn I was happy! and proud!
Now, I have very very gently been working on gettin her back on the perch. She will step on it now, with both feet and get a treat and stay there for a few seconds.
She is doing wonderful! I coudln't be lieve she caught on so quick tonite to keep the ring in her mouth/beak. It came from touching it with my hand AS SOON as she had it in her mouth. It had to be quick. and a click and treat. Just a few more times and I could say, "gimme the ring" and she'd take it from her claw back in her beak and sort of hold it out, she still holds on a little and doesn't release, but she knows what's going on..wow....clicker cumlaude!
And she said "Hi" in FRENCH!! (kidding, but I was on a roll)

Can't wait to see Baby on an animal star show! In the meantime, you've just got to get this on video to share with all of us! Good job, Baby (and Dad too!)!!

You're so happy- it's so sweet!! It sounds like Baby is really doing excellent! A video would be awesome!

After you get him to ace that, you'll have to get him to put the ring on a peg.

When I get her doing it right, I'll get a lil video. But, I want it as good as she can do it. She's good at "big bird" and ring the bell. She's gonna be really good at the ring stuff soon.
Yea, we both had a big time last nite. We were alone here, and I was able to get loud with her, she loves the loudness and chatter when your training.

What is her "big bird"? We do a "big wings" with Ollie where she stretches her wings up, and also a "shake shake" where she puffs up and does the whole body doggie shake.

well, it's just something I made up to be honest. I tell her "Be Big Bird" and she flaps and screams. Stuff she does naturally, but she does it on command and feels happy and gets a treat when she does it. LOL.
I sort of use it as a bridge and a break when she gets tired of the other stuff.
I'd like to see Ollie do Shake shake. That sounds funny. I may have to get Baby to do that...she does it. I have to find a good "cue".

I thought I had shake shake on video and up on youtube, but I guess I don't. I'll try to get it soon. Big Bird sounds adorable! Shake Shake and Big Wings are fun things for Ollie as well. She actually says "Big Wings!" (although sometimes she gets too excited and it comes out as "Big WEEE!") herself as she does the actual action. We're working on her doing it on command, but so far she just prefers to do that one on her own.
