We got in two weaned Eleanoras. I must admit, (all cockatoos cover your eyes) I am not a big cockatoo fan, but something about one of them just got my attention.

I took her out of the parrot room the other day and put her on the playstand near our register. The next thing I see, this Eleanora is taking her pellets in her left hand, tilting her head to the right, and then she throws the pellet up in the air in and catches it in her beak! I thought it HAD to be a coincidence.

I continued to watch her, and she did it again! Customers starting crowding around her. Well, that's ALL she needed. She began performing! She also takes a pellet, puts it in her wing and then allows it to roll down and she again catches it in her beak (she sometimes misses). This went on for a good 15 minutes.. and again the next day and the next day. She loves when everyone claps!

Seeing that sounds like a good reason for a road trip!!

... and they call them birdbrains! IMHO when all is said and done we'll be astounded at the intelligence these lovely beings have.
