I bought this ball for Angel when he first came to me. I recorded something mooshy and embarassing. and stuck it in his cage. At night I would hear him give it a "shove"---that is all it took to make my voice come on "It is ok Angel---Mommys here!" I swear he knew it would comfort him and he did it quite often at night (and probably during the day when I was at work).

It is meant for dogs and is called the "Talk to Me Treat Ball"....I never put treats in it---just recorded my voice to sooth my birds.

Sometimes I think he was mad at me because I'd put it on his "play top" and all of a sudden I'd hear a "crash"---he'd throw it on the floor.

Mary, thanks for the link! i wish i knew about this before i went on my trip in december! i was looking for a toy that i could buy my fids so that i could record my voice on it for them to hear when they wish. this is EXACTLY what i was looking for.

how big is the hole for the treats? is it something that i could use to dispense a piece of nut or something?

My dog used to have something like that, it was deathly afraid of it. LOL But I bet it would be comforting especially to a only-bird.
