sometimes i wish you would just hold back a little bit with those judgmental statements, and respect that not everybody has the location/means/living situation like you where you can provide all these great things for your birds

Bee.......Did you read my VERY FIRST sentence? Did I or did I not state: "IF AT ALL POSSIBLE" - Sheeeeeezzzze!!!!!!... Where did I say it is possible for "everybody"? ....... I clearly was meaning that if it is possible for bird keepers to provide better or the best living arangements for their birds, then they should do that or strive to do that and not make excuses why they can't - like many seem to do. I was not pointing fingers at anyone specifically. I also need to make improvements for my own flock btw. I'll stop there for now. | Dear sweet, innocent Joel
I sincerely admit my mis-understanding of your words, as they appeared to be slightly offensive to my nature. However, in your response you sufficiently clarified the matter, which I appreciate.
I absolutely agree with your perception that "best-available technology within possibilities" (quote from the Austrian environmental law) should be employed in order to spoil our little birdies rotten.
Best regards,
B.Br. (representative of Spoiled-Rotten-Stinkefuesse Inc.) got ya... just sounded a little harsh to me, but i agree with your last statement.... jeezzz, Joel, we seem to be the living example why men and women always run into misunderstandings |

I know nothing of the light ya mentioned, maybe someone else does. The important things I have found is that you use enough light (2 tubes better than 1); electronic ballast instead of magnetic; highest CRI you can find is "best"; good Kelvin temp. rating of 5,000-5500K is all around best I hear; proper distance from top of flight/cage; proper amt. of time on; reflector type hood (white is prolly best) and I think that's it. Search F.S. Lighting here at P.C. (if ya like) to see if I got it all.
One other thought - ya might just ask your landlord if ok to attach to a window, never know, they might say ok? Unlikely though if you are not renting a house vs. apt. etc.... Best wishes. |
