Lock the door. Non "animal people" aren't welcome at my house!

2}change the soup, er, I mean water. Same as above as soon as I walk away they start dippin'
3}my Sanitare canister vac sits next to Benji's cage at all times just for such emergencies!!!

Yeppers!!

1. Lock door
2. Push the biggest peice of furniture up against it
3. Put an "unwelcome" mat out.



If I really needed to have them come in,

probably....
1. change shirt
2. quick sweep up
3. dirt devel under all the perches.

I would lock the door too, but that would exclude people like my inlaws and well, can't do that. Even so-called animal people are usually not BIRD people! Drives me nuts!

But anyways, here's what I do:

Change the newspapers that lie beneath their hanging gyms, the poop papers.
Clean any poop off the window sills by the gyms.
Change the top layer of paper in everyone's cages.
Give Lulu's grate a wipe down.
Sweep around the cages.

I like everyone's cages to look sparkling when company is over.

With 11 dogs, people just don't come to our house without an invitation. And non-animal people NEVER get an invitation!

That said, change water dishes, make sure the dogs are locked away out of sight and reach (never out of sound, though--they love announcing visitors :-)), and the door to the bird room is closed, since Bob always freaks out around strangers....

I think I stopped caring! A year ago, my house was spotless, everything in its place, dust free. Now?

I don't worry much, to bad to sad. I don't think I have any non pet friends or visitors. It can look bad even to animal lovers and bad to new owners of my babies but then they need the shock of what a house can look like. I don't have my birds caged in the day, so things can look a bit out of place.
