Ok...gotta brag a lil. I had perched Cleo and taken her to the bedroom to sort of catch up on the life in my house while we were gone to my parent's tonite. I was doing some stuff and she flew off the bed and into the empty whirlpool tub. I left her in there a lil bit, called to my son to bring the camera. I put my hand in the tub, asked if she wanted to "go home" and she hopped on there as if she had hailed a taxicab. LOL.
Off we went, BOTH feet on my arm. It was great! This time, my family was all there to witness it.
You can see by this one that she is really not secure on my arm just yet by her feet being spread so far apart..but..she'll get there.
After all I have went thru with her, it was a great feeling. I'm sure that the guys that built Mount Rushmore could not have been prouder when they blew out Washington's chin. LOL. But anyway, she rode back, then just as before, bit my arm off and whipped me with it when I stuck my hand back up there on her cage and offered it. One minute, they're your best friend and then you are a SNACK! Zons...
Then, we got into some playtime on the outside perch beside the recilner arm. Remember she won't DARE get off that thing yet to come close, but it has been a great "bridge" to strengthen trust just as we sort of hang out in the living room. She has gotten to where if I or anyone for that matter, sits down with a bowl..she climbs down for some and she's usually disappointed cause we don't snack her much. I've actually taken some of her food and put it in my bowl (I'm not eatin it) and let her think I"m eatin what I'm givin her.
She got really stoopid on there today and was hanging upside down by one foot wantin some belly scratchings..she is a goof.
Here is just a closeup of her throwin sexy on the camera. This is where I ask Cleophyllis to look like the girl in the Chris Issac video on the beach.
And finally, this is her being BIG BIRD! I cue her to "Be Big Bird" and she flaps those beautiful wings. There are still some spots where they are growing back in. But other than that she is beatiful. I took her to the shower today on the perch and she flew off a couple of times, but eventually seemed to enjoy it more and flapped her wings in there and spread out a little. Then, she flew out and I left good enough alone. I didn't want to scare her. But here..Big Bird is showing off!!
Ok..that's it for the Cleo Chronicles, October 21, 2007!
