Lightbulb The Cleo Chronicles BLOG....

Hi folks,
Here is Cleo's blog. I have had it going since I got her to track her progress and my notes. It is long and much of it has already been read as it is from here. But, not all. I made a table of contents on the right side so you can go direct to an entry. Also, I embedded the video of her giving me the ring. There is also a photo slideshow at the bottom. This has combined my love to write with my fun and challenges with Cleo.
Feel free to bookmark it and look back later as I will be making updates.

I hope this finds all of you safe, happy and great in 2008!! (k, gimme an F on the rhyming section)

Very nice job. Cleo is quite the character. She is very beautiful & regal - it's almost beyond my imagination to think of her in her worst moments. I liked the photo essay at the bottom & your opening statement about getting her.

I wish you all the best successes this new year. & for Doodle as well.

Thanks guys, I forgot to say to not be scared of the bald guy when the page pulls up.
I wanted it on there because it shows how far I've come from not having any contact with her 6 months ago to THIS! I can't help but being proud.
I'll be making a new post soon, cause she is changing daily. And in some ways, it's sort of a study.
Today, she was on her stand in the living room and starting doing one of those dunking baths they do. I offered a hand and said. "let's take a shower!". She was like ..whatever.
Anyway, I had gotten the shower running warm, and took her there. After I learned to stoop down, I'm tall and she was sliding off my arm, she became very comfortable in there. Too elated for a pic. She just sat there on my arm under the shower and spread her wings. It was excellent cool. She seemed happy. Zon's are supposed to love the water.
If she keeps that up, I'll get her a shower perch.
But anyway, it was interesting to me cause had I not had worked so hard in getting her hand trained, she wouldn't have enjoyed the perch. I had put her in there on a hand PERCH and she quickly flew off. But...she felt safe on my hand, apparantly.
So, that tells me that teaching stepups can really increase trust INDIRECTLY. It's good to stepup when needed. But, it also creates a bond in trust in other ways.

This is so wonderful, what a great blog. Bless your heart for taking in Cleo. You've made great progress in 6 months!. Its slow going with birds, especially ones that have been abused and have lost trust. Cleo's story has made my day.

What is so wonderful! It is so amazing to see her go from where she was when you first got her to where she is now.

Thanks everyone for the kind replies. I found a way to rearrange the pic of Cleo and I to where it does not JUMP in your face when you open the blog.
