Hi all. I cannot catch a break I swear! The supply company never ordered my cage so it wont be in for another 2 weeks! Yeah, no. So needless to say, I have been scouring craigslist and want ads. One of my clients was in today and tells me there is a friend of hers who is getting rid of her cage. I go check it out, it's PERFECT for Zakiya! Now..how do I make sure I clean and disenfect it well before bringing it in? What should I use? Bleach? Powewash? Simple green? Thanks all!

Take it outside, hose everything down, spray it with a solution of half bleach/half water, let it dry, then hose it down again. You can also soak perches and toys in bleach water.

I got a second hand cage for Echo that I love. I did what Susan said then washed it and sprayed it down with white vinigar.

Whew, OK then..I have to say I was a tad nervous about germs for my new baby! But I just had the scrubbing bleaching marathon for the past 2 hours!Then I hosed it down, and now it is raining on it! It will sit in the sun all day tomorrow and hopefully tomorrow night I will have pics of Zakiya in her new cage! Thanks guys!
