Default catnip and parrot question

Some had said to me that catnip is bad for parrots because it makes them hallucinate, not that Eve gets catnip mind you, it just kinda came up in conversation. I have never heard of this before, and while I see some info online about this it is very speculative. Does anybody know the answer? And if so do you have any reference for it? This person was not sure if he was correct either but it just had me wondering.

Avian Web lists it under the toxic group of plants:
Catnip Common Name: Catmint, Catnip Toxic Principle: Volatile oil Clinical Signs: Odd behavior, Drowsiness, Disorientation
Foods & Plants Toxic to Birds

This is a story about a Blue Front Amazon having a problem with catnip;LINK: Catnip

yeah I saw that on the avian web but they did not show their source (unless I missed it) , and they have often gotten thing wrong and misprinted information. I've had to correct them on things about me often, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. the amazon story however scars me. The question you saw was most likely posted by my friend but I could not see the info unless I joined, so I do not know if there was a referenced answer. Either way having researched the plants chemicals today, I've found lots of good and bad things depending on how much is ingested for humans, and the bad would be extremely bad for a parrot. But when it come to hallucinations???? I'm not so sure, after all how would they know? It not like the parrot is going to tell them.

But thanks anyway!
