Default Cape Parrots

Does anyone on PC have a cape parrot or know anyone with one? They are not very common but I have done a little research on them and they seem like really cool birds. Any thoughts on them?

Do you remember how she liked him/her? I have read a lot of good things about them.

Let's see...the birds name was Betty, a female, and she was still very young when I last talked to this person. Beautiful bird, but I don't know much about what she was like. I'm trying to locate this person now, well shall see what I find.

Camille, I remember the one you're talking about. She was on BB, and the bird's name was "Betty Rumble", wasn't it? She went by Lori L., and she was from Massachusetts. I believe October was the last time she posted there.

Yes Nate, that's her. Betty Rubble, from the Flintstones. She left BB quite awhile back for other forums.

I just took a look at the ones you mentioned, they are cute. They have a different look to them compared to most birds, they are unique. For some reason, the birds I like most are those with big beaks and cape's appear to have larger than average beaks. I would love to have one much later in life ( I say that about a lot of birds, by the time I'm 50, I'll have 500 birds forcing me to do labor for them I have a feeling I will turn into a bird, I'll wake up one day with little pin feathers coming in

We looked at one- There was a breeder that had a brother and sister for sale. They were fun birds- HUGE beaks for thier size, but so sweet and gentle. They are supposed to be very intelligent animals, and at least as capable as african Greys as far as speech goes. They are somewhat rare, I beleive that they are endangered or threatened in the wild, and there are not too many breeder pairs in the U.S., so the supply is somewhat low. At the same time, however, the demand for them is not that high either- so the prices aren't unreal on them. I ALMOST bought one, but the same people had a Timneh that I couldn't pass up- especially when you consider that she was a fraction of the price
