Question Candles?

Hi there, I have been reading and researching on the dangers of burning candles with our fids in the home. I have come across so much conflicting info, my head is swimming! Some say it's the lead in the wick that is toxic, some say it's the parafin, some say oils. Other things I've read say soy is ok to burn as long as it is a cotton wick. Help! Anyone here use birdsafe candles? Is there such a thing? This will be my first holiday season coming up without them. So be it for my Z to be safe! But....if anyone has an info on this, that would be great! Thanks again in advance!

I would like to know what people think as well. Thanks for bringing this up. I've heard that insence and candles are bad, I've heard only scented are bad, I've heard as long as it isnt very close to them, its ok.... finally I got fed up and decided not use burn any, but I used to burn incence and candles everyday....... ohh, the sacrafices we make for our fids, candles, living space, social lives, its worth it (most of the time )

Incense is DEFINATELY bad, as for candles I would think all natural burning candles with ventilation would be fine (straight wax, cotton wick, no chemicals, no smelly stuff) in fact I am probably going to see about getting some soon that fit that description because my mom gave me a very pretty candle holder and I want to light it one night while I'm curled up in bed with Jean in his hideaway roost above my bed with a good movie on.
